Hey Gang,

Not a lot to report this week.

I know I say this often but this was a page I’ve been anticipating for some time. It was hard to kill off this character. Part of me really want to give him a happy ending. With his situation though, I don’t think it would have been realistic. His is just a sad story. If Keyli doesn’t escape, this will most certainly be his fate.

The other big thing is of course, Eetori has mastered his new invention. A bow and arrow may seem low tech to us, but for them, this is a game changer. Things are even more dangerous for our pack of Tree Dwellers!

Still no word on when the videos of my panels will be posted. The good people at Denver Comic Con assured me they will be up. It was only their third year so i’m giving them a bit more time.

Chapter 6 is here!

Thanks for your patience everyone!

This week is all about set up, so there is much dialog. I hope you like the wall-crawling crab though. Next week we’ll see who comes through that door.

This chapter is going to be amazing, so make sure to spread the word!

Here it is Hominerds!
The cover to the forthcoming Chapter 6: Sacrifice!
This might be my favorite cover. It says everything you need to know about the chapter, while also being really simple. I’ve had it in my head for a long time so I’m really excited to reveal it.
Make sure to come back next week, because Chapter 6 gets rolling. I’ll be releasing the first two pages to help wet your appetite.
In the meantime, check out this amazing fan art by artist extraordinaire, Leila Del Duca! Her new book Shutter is being published by Image Comics and it just came out. She also lucky enough to have it written by the fabulous Joe Keatinge. She an amazing artist and I’m so humbled to get this art. I’ll be doing a pin-up of Shutter for her as well in the near future.

40 pages later and Chapter 5 is finally finished!

Just wanted to through out a quick thank you to all the people to have stuck with the comic this whole time. It can feel like a slow progression with webcomics from time to time and I’m constantly impressed by reader tenacity to stick with it. I have no doubt you’re all spreading the word to friends and geeks everywhere to help grow the Hominerds universe.

As usual, I’ll be taking a month or so off to get Chapter 6 ready. I also have a couple other things in the fire. Things that will hopefully help Hominids go even further. Make sure to continue following the site, as I’ll be posting progress of all my work.

One other note, This last weekend was Emerald City Comic Con. I got the chance to meet a lot of great people, some of which were actually readers! Not to mention talking to a lot of great professionals and creators. Here is just a little preview. Check out my Hominids Facebook page for even more photos and highlights.

I doubt this comes as much of a surprise.

The fun is not the mystery of “who” the High Priest is…

…or was, rather the fun is finding out how he came to to be who he is now. He comes off as such a good person when he’s with Zona. It’s reminiscent of Icari when he’s with the Tree People…but, maybe that’s the point.

It’s surprising, but there is still one more page after this. It’s more of an epilogue, but it’s one of my favorites. You’ll find out next week. After that, I’ll be taking a short break to get Chapter 6 ready. There are some script things I need to tighten up and I need to make sure all the thumbnails and concept art is prepared.

Not to mention, it’s time to think about putting these books out in a real serious way. Like, in comic book stores. I’m looking into Patreon as a means to help pay for self-publishing. I haven’t completely ruled out finding a publisher too. We’ll see. The future is an blank canvas at this point.

This weekend! I’ll be exhibiting at both Emerald City Comic Con again this year.

For ECCC, I’ll be at booth 1308. On top of exhibiting For “Hominids“, I’ll also be there helping sell Monsterpedie 3, which is an anthology book I’ve been a part of for the last 3 years. So if you’re planning on coming this year make sure to stop by and say hi! I’ll be sharing the booth with non other then: Dev Madan of “Young Heroes in Love” fame, Karin Madan of “Stumpytown”, Misael ArmendarizErin MiddendorfRich Werner of Plants vs. Zombies, and master-painter Augie Pagan.
